ALMAP BBDO, one of the best agencies in Brazil, get this GOL AIRLINES account and provoque all people to get a plane, after all it was natural as a “bird fly” and it literally says: “why get a bus if you can fly” - they were talking about the very same region as “our" client, Guanabara Bus Company, which has buses going to the same place as GOL- The thing is: by that time we had some labor strikes and problems at airports (during the Brazilian Aviation Crisis) that make the GOL (and all companies in brazil) with the time table very, very late.
So we developed this action around the airports with messages to costumers that was just arrived late from GOL flies that said something like:
“MR. MOESIO, IM STAND STILL SINCE A DAY BEFORE YESTERDAY”
or
"MR. CLAUDIO, I'LL GIVE UP ON YOU”.
All the posters were making jokes about it. We also run the answer add saying “what's the point to have wings if you can't fly?"; "If you want to be on schedule, go by Guanabara Buses”. The whole campaign get a gold medal in CCSP-Sao Paulo Anuary, one of the most desirable in the country. The Bus Tickets increased by 20%.
